Having Fun with Cecily's Closet

Picture
This year has brought a lot of unique design request and challenges my way . I have also be very lucky to meet some great families through Cecily's Closet. For those who have been following the story on Facebook, Super Riley, whose room is above, has finished his 10th round of chemo in 7 months and is finally at home and healing. Big brother Braden, whose room is below, is also doing well. It was a pleasure to work with all my friends and clients who volunteered and donated. I am so grateful for you!

It was also a great joy to work with Gage and Grace, whose loving home I turned upside down for almost a week until the amazing Cecily's Team worked their magic and made it all come together in a day. The photos at the top of the page (expertly photographed by Andy McRory) are the two side of their morning and evening horse-themed room.

I like these four areas because they show the diversity of what I'm willing to tackle, as well as how you can make child spaces look completely different.

Here's where you really find out what's Inside Emily Dolton's Head. I believe you must truly "Be the Change You Want To See in the World". For that reason, I am very active with San Diego Unified School district where my children attend Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary, with the Center for Accord, with San Diego Family Magazine's Flourishing Families Guide for the Parents of children with Special Needs and with Cecily's Closet, a non-profit that connects families with children with special needs to resources, recycles durable medical equipment, and provides amazing room makeovers to children with special needs and their families.
